Policy

The University of California, Berkeley, is committed to protecting the privacy and accuracy of your personally identifiable information to the extent possible, subject to provisions of state and federal law. Other than as required by laws that guarantee public access to certain types of information, or in response to subpoenas or other legal instruments that authorize disclosure, personally identifiable information is not actively shared. In particular, we do not redistribute or sell personal information collected on our Web servers.

Information Collected

This UC Berkeley website may collect personal information such as name, address, email address, telephone number(s) and educational interests. Such personal information may be requested by us for research, public service or teaching programs, marketing purposes, or administrative purposes. Additional personal information, such as credit card account information, may be requested for purchases or enrollment purposes.

Additionally, the Web server collects, at least temporarily, the following information: Internet Protocol (IP) address of computer being used, Web pages requested, referring Web page, browser used, date, and time. UC Berkeley may collect statistics identifying particular IP addresses from which our websites are accessed.

Use of Collected Information

UC Berkeley may use personal information collected from websites for the purpose of future communication back to online enrollees, in order to keep you informed of such activities as campus programs, symposia and/or special events, but only if you are provided the opportunity to opt out of that type of use.

UC Berkeley may use browser-IP-address information and anonymous-browser history to report information about site accesses and for profiling purposes. This information is generally used to improve Web presentation and utilization. We also may use IP address information for troubleshooting purposes.

This website uses Google Analytics to aggregate general demographic information on site visitors to improve our service, develop new methods of displaying information, and ensure the technical functioning of the website. We do not share this information with Google or any outside firm.

This website uses cookies to deliver Web content specific to individuals’ Web-navigation interests. Personally identifiable information is not stored within cookies.

In addition, this site uses cookies to record session activity for remarketing purposes to advertise the On-Campus/Online Professional Master of Public Health Degree online. Third-party vendors, including Google, show these advertisements across the Internet. Cookies enable third-party vendors, including Google, to serve School of Public Health ads based on individuals’ past visits to this website. Distribution of Collected Information

Access to Own Information

Questions regarding your rights to options to review, modify, or delete previously provided personal information should be directed to the School of Public Health. Any disputes will be resolved under existing records regulations applicable to UC Berkeley.
