Visiting Campus

All Online MPH students spend 15 days on the Berkeley Campus during the program with one visit in the summer of year 1 and a second visit in summer of year 2.

PHW200E, Health Policy and Management, in your first summer and PHW289, Interdisciplinary Seminar, in your second summer have mandatory on campus sessions.

How it Works

On Campus visits include 8 hour days full of learning activities.  During your time on campus, you will attend guest lectures, participate in class discussions and work on team projects. While here you will meet with School of Public Health Librarians and have access to Career Counseling/Leadership Development Services.

Strengthening connections among online students and with SPH faculty!

First Year Visit

PHW200E: Health Policy and Management

Your first year campus visit will take place part of the breadth course, Health Policy and Management.  In this course, you will learn about health policy and management and health care delivery systems, primarily from a United States perspective. Discover how health policy and management applies concepts from economics, organizational behavior, and political science to the structure, financing, and regulation of public health and the health care delivery systems.

Second Year Visit

PHW289: Interdisciplinary Seminar

Your second year visit will occur during the course PHW289. This multidisciplinary course draws from current topics and emerging competencies in public health professions to guide you in the tools and practices that lead to better solutions. The topics are delivered by discipline experts with whom you will engage in hands on workshops, lectures, and gatherings during a week long campus visit.
