2023 Commencement Ceremony – Date TBA

The Berkeley Public Health Graduation date has not been announced yet. The UC Berkeley wide Commencement Ceremony is scheduled Saturday, May 13, 2023. The BPH Ceremony is likely to take place on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday of the following week (May 19-21, 2023). We will post the date here as soon as it’s announced (usually later in the Fall semester).  OOMPH students take part in the BPH ceremony, with an OOMPH hosted celebration to follow.

2022 Commencement Ceremony

Berkeley Public Health will be holding the 2022 Commencement Ceremony with speeches and conferring of degrees in-person on May 15, 2022 at the Greek Theatre at UC Berkeley. The Commencement procession begins at 2pm and is expected to last 2.5 hours. All OOMPH students who graduated in Fall 2021 and intend to graduate in Spring 2022 and Summer 2022 are eligible to participate. 

Students can receive up to 10 tickets with the first 4 being free (after completion of the exit survey sent by BPH) and the additional 6 for purchase at $10 each. Graduating students do not require a ticket. Seating will be general admission.

The 2022 Berkeley Public Health Commencement Ceremony will be webcast live on the day of the event. The recording will also be archived online for future viewing on the Berkeley Public Health YouTube channel.

BPH Celebration

BPH will hold a reception at the Campanile Esplanade directly after the ceremony and will last for 1.5 hours.

UC Berkeley – Campus-wide Ceremony

The campus-wide Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 14 at 10am PT at the California Memorial Stadium. Eligible students will be emailed in March with more information as soon as graduate registration and guest ticket sales open. Cap, Gown, and More

Students are responsible for providing their own regalia, if they would like to wear it for the Commencement Ceremony. Regalia is not required. Caps, gowns, diploma frame, and other graduation items can be purchased from the Cal Student Store. The Public Health master’s hood is “salmon pink” and the tassel is “blue and gold.”

Accessibility & Accommodations

If you require an accommodation for effective communication (ASL interpreting/CART captioning, alternative media formats, etc.) or information about campus mobility access features in order to fully participate in this event, please contact Julie Moss, (OOMPH DSP liaison) at with as much advance notice as possible and at least 7-10 days in advance of the event.

OOMPH Post-Commencement Celebration

OOMPH Faculty and staff are excited to celebrate your accomplishments at our post-commencement reception.

Below is important information about event logistics. Please review it prior to our celebration which will take place Sunday, May 15th from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Alumni House.

RSVP is required.  Please contact if you plan to attend and still need to RSVP.


During Commencements, parking is very limited at UC Berkeley. Public parking will be available at attendant-controlled lots for $10. Parking is credit card only.

The following parking options will be available on the day of commencement and post-commencement celebration:

Foothill Lot: The lot is located on Cyclotron Road, east of Highland. From the Foothill Lot parking, it will take about 15 minutes to walk to the Greek Theatre. From the Alumni House, it will take about 20 minutes to walk back to the parking lot.

Upper Hearst Structure The parking structure is located at the corner of Hearst Ave and Gayley Rd. From the Upper Hearst Structure, it will take about 10 minutes to walk to the Greek Theatre. From the Alumni House, it will take about 20 minutes to walk back to the parking structure.

Underhill Garage The parking garage is located at the corner of Haste St. and College Ave. From the Underhill Garage, it will take about 10 minutes to walk to the Greek Theatre. From the Alumni House, it will take about 15 minutes to walk back to the parking garage.

Stadium Parking Garage (3rd Party Managed with different rates). The parking garage is located on Gayley Rd, in front of the Hass School of Business. From the Upper Hearst Structure, it will take about 5 minutes to walk to the Greek Theatre. From the Alumni House, it will take about 10 minutes to walk back to the parking structure.

If you pay for parking at a UC Berkeley lot and move your car to another lot after the ceremony, you do not have to pay again. The only exception is the Stadium Parking Garage which is not a UC Berkeley lot.

Disabled Parking

All designated Disabled spaces and non-reserved spaces will be available at the above parking options and rates to disabled patrons with certified handicapped placards or license plates on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no designated parking lot or special rates for Disabled Placard holders.

Check in

Check-in to the event will take place at the entrance to the Alumni House at the Bancroft Street side. Please stop by the check-in table outside to receive your name tag and then proceed into the Alumni House where we will have another table with your gift.
