Cap, Gown and More

Whether the campus wide and department ceremonies are in person or virtual, you can watch them in your graduation regalia! If you are at home get comfy — or get formal! If you go all out, you may purchase your cap and gown, frame, and other graduation items from the Cal Student Store and have them shipped directly to your home.  For more information, please visit the Berkeley bConnection website.

Berkeley Email Address

The campus will extend the courtesy of alumni email service to graduating students and alumni under new parameters that will include requirements around use, storage limits, and multifactor authentication but will not, at present, come at any cost to alums. While UC Berkeley cannot unconditionally commit to maintaining alumni email service indefinitely, we believe that this plan offers sustainability to this alumni benefit. If the policy needs to be changed in the future, impacted groups will be notified as appropriate.

For more information, please visit this page.

bMail Grace Period

When all of a person’s affiliations with UC Berkeley are no longer active, their CalNet ID is considered expired. However, that ID’s information is retained in the system for a certain length of time determined by the type of affiliation the person had with UC Berkeley. That length of time is called a grace period. An expired person with no active affiliations and who is no longer in grace will no longer be able to log in to their CalNet account.

Graduate Students taking a leave of absence or have just graduated have 274 day grace period
