Book an Advising Appointment with your Program Manager

The Program Managers are your graduate advisors and first point of contact after admission! They will be crucial in the overall planning and support for current students on topics ranging from academic planning, CalCentral support, and enrollment issues, to administrative advising and general program logistics (e.g., graduation/degree checks, leaves of absence, re-enrollment, etc.).

Epidemiology and Biostatistics Concentration
Evan vanDommelen-Gonzalez, DrPH, MPH is the interim faculty lead for the Epidemiology and Biostatistics concentration. She works with the Epidemiology/Biostatistics Program Manager Zoe P. Blalock to provide support and guidance as you map out your courses toward degree completion and align your practicum experience with your overarching learning and professional goals. Brent Fulton, PhD, MBA is the faculty lead for the HPM concentration. For the online MPH, Dr. Fulton is the faculty for Health Economics, offered in Fall 2. Brent can also provide Health Policy Management related professional development advising.

Interdisciplinary Program
Evan vanDommelen-Gonzalez, DrPH, MPH is the faculty lead for the Interdisciplinary Program option. Evan offers support and guidance as you map out your second-year courses toward degree completion and aims to align your Practicum experience with your overarching learning and professional goals. She also provides guidance to prepare for the Capstone, provides support if you are contemplating a career shift to or in public health, consider taking leave, or want to share feedback for program improvement. Academic advising is designed to be integrated with other student support and resources geared toward building your public health toolbox with the skills to promote and lead efforts towards health equity with communities around the world. Evan teaches 200GW: Health & Social Behavior and 289W: Interdisciplinary Seminar in Summer 1.

Food, Nutrition & Population Health
Sarah Zyba, PhD, is the faculty lead for the OOMPH Food, Nutrition & Population Health concentration. Dr. Zyba’s research focuses on micronutrient deficiencies in young children and women of reproductive age, and interventions designed to improve micronutrient status in these populations. For the online MPH, Dr. Zyba is the faculty for Nutrition Assessment, offered in Spring 1. Together with the online MPH Nutrition program manager, Dr. Zyba can provide support and guidance as you map out your courses toward degree completion and align your practicum experience with your overarching learning and professional goals. Dr. Zyba can also provide Nutrition-related professional development advising if you are contemplating a career shift to Nutrition or would like to incorporate a few selected courses into your degree program.
